Daily Surge Summary: Despite the open borders propaganda, a majority of Americans support tough border policies.
Can anyone seriously deny jack-hammering open-border propaganda is issuing, on a daily basis from the Left and Mainstream Media (I know, they’re pretty much the same thing?) That these lobbies are pushing lawless immigration policies and generous benefits for those entering and remaining illegally in the United States of America?
Keeping that in mind, it can only surprise, at least a skoche, to discover the American people aren’t quite mindlessly buying into it.
Over at One News Now, Michael Haverluck informs: A recent Harvard/Harris nationwide poll, conducted online in late June on nearly 2,200 respondents shows a majority — 51 percent — of Americans call for a mass deportation of illegal aliens; i.e., the very policy supported by Donald Trump.
The latest survey reveals a majority of registered voters believe the Trump administration should launch a mass deportation of the allegedly tens of millions of illegals currently living in the nation if U.S. Congress falls down in its job this week and doesn’t close asylum system loopholes that permit “undocumented” immigrants to make it into the country.
Apparently fed up with illegals freely draining the tax system of funds that many believe should go to needy Americans, destitute veterans and citizens living in poverty and homeless conditions – not to mention going toward repairing the U.S.’s crumbling infrastructure – an overwhelming majority of conservatives and most voters on the fence are for mass deportations.
“More than 8-in-10 Republican voters – as well as more than 5-in-10 swing voters – said President Trump should carry out mass deportations of illegal aliens following Congressional inaction,” Breitbart News reported from the poll. “Nearly 9-in-10 Trump supporters said the same.”
Most major demographic groups gave thumbs up to the putatively controversial principle that laws ought to be enforced, thus those who illegally entered America’s boundaries ought to be deported.
Working and middle-class Americans – those earning $75,000 a year or less — and Americans 35 to 49-years-old apparently favor mass deportations following inaction from Congress, according to Breitbart’s John Binder.
Not surprising, the biggest supporters of welcoming illegal immigrants and providing them with taxpayer-funded benefits are the 2016 voters who opposed Donald Trump.
“Democrats and voters who supported failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton are the least likely of any demographic group to support mass deportations of illegal aliens,” Binder noted.
The survey was held in June, days immediately following delay of the President’s threat to conduct massive raids in major American cities, arresting/deporting illegals. That delay was due to a well-publicized, supposedly internal leak.
“Former acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Thomas Homan accused acting Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kevin McAleenan of leaking the plans to mass deport illegal aliens in order to halt the operation,” Binder recounted. “Trump – at the time – said he would give Congress two weeks to strike a deal to close loopholes in the asylum system.”
[T]he Democratic Party greatly benefits from illegal immigration, come election time … especially as Democrats maneuver to find ways to allow illegals to vote with identification cards and drivers licenses that are wrongly issued.
As that presidential two-week deadline impends and with no congressional plan in sight, the ramifications of this decision are potentially decisive for both sides of the political aisle.
In a number of … states – including some red states that continue to turn bluer – illegal immigrants are turning the voting tide in Democrats’ direction.
Pro-Trump states like Louisiana, North Dakota and South Dakota have seen the illegal alien share of their population augment noticeably over the last decade.
“In North Dakota – where Trump won with 63 percent of the vote – the illegal alien population has grown by 5,000 over the last decade … This is a sizeable increase for the state that has one of the smallest resident populations in the country with just 760,000 residents,” Pew’s Jeffrey S. Passel and D’Vera Cohn noted. “For South Dakota – a state that voted 61.5 percent for Trump – the illegal alien population has also grown by 5,000 over the past 10 years … This, too, is a significant increase, as the state only has a resident population of about 883,000 residents.”
I’m going to assume the reason the Left would be licking their collective chops over these demographic trends doesn’t need to be explained.
Already deep-blue states are quickly deepening into an even darker shade of Democrats favorite color. For example, Passel and D’Vera specify: Massachusetts: 60,000 more illegal immigrants than ten years ago. Or Maryland: the illegal alien population swelling by 45, 000 in the past twelve years.
If data like that startles and alarms some folks, they can take not a little comfort that, if these polling stats can be credited, they’re hardly alone.
