Because so many Democrats want to impeach all the people!

Over the weekend, The New York Times dropped a piece on new allegations of sexual assault against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Some of the 2020 Democratic presidential hopefuls immediately called for Kavanaugh’s impeachment along with some Democrats in Congress.

They all face pushback from Republicans, but quite a few senior Democrats in both chambers.

After the bombshell came out, the candidates lined up to demand Kavanaugh’s impeachment. Former HUD Secretary Julian Castro declared “[I]t’s more clear than ever that Brett Kavanaugh lied under oath.”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) lamented over Kavanaugh’s confirmation process in her tweet. She ended by saying, “Like the man who appointed him, Kavanaugh must be impeached.

Sens. Kamala Harris (D-CA) and Bernie Sanders (I-VT) followed suit along with Robert O’Rourke.

Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) plans to “file an impeachment resolution on Tuesday.” She claimed that “Kavanaugh’s confirmation process set a dangerous precedent.” She argued they “must demand justice for survivors and hold Kavanaugh accountable for his actions.”

I thought in America one is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Kavanaugh only has accusations against him. One woman refuses interviews and even said she does not recall the supposed incident. All we really have to go on is Christine Blasey Ford’s word. Her star witness, Leland Keyser, said she did not believe her lifelong friend.

Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) expressed his frustration:

“Get real,” as Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) put it Monday afternoon.

“We’ve got to get beyond this ‘impeachment is the answer to every problem.’ It’s not realistic,” Durbin said. “If that’s how we are identified in Congress, as the impeachment Congress, we run the risk that people will feel we’re ignoring the issues that mean a lot to them as families.”

Durbin had to take a shot at Republicans:

“I understand their frustration. I was in the front row of the frustration crowd. They didn’t produce the documents and the FBI didn’t follow up on the investigation,” Durbin said. “We’re now getting pushed into the impeachment corner by the Republicans every chance they get.”

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said “he would address the matter later.” So, for now, he is “saying nothing on Kavanaugh.”

Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) agreed because Senate Majority Leader “Mitch McConnell would block any impeachment.” He insisted they all learn from the confirmation process by not rushing into these lifetime appointments.

Durbin has a point. Anytime something comes up the Democrats scream IMPEACHMENT. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler is obsessed with impeaching President Donald Trump. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi gently pushes back against Nadler, but he is determined to continue his righteous crusade.

Nadler even brushed aside Kavanugh impeachment proceedings in order to concentrate on his march against Trump. Weirdly enough, he explained his decision on the fact that Congress should not throw around impeachments. They have “to be able to justify” their actions.
